Oceanic voyage, in spite of being exciting, is also led with its own risk. How can we forget the iconic ship “Titanic” which was accorded the title ‘Unsinkable’ , but sank on its very first voyage in 1914. Likewise, the famous cruise ship Costa Concordia too met with an unfortunate accident when it was sailing through Mediterranean.
The Costa Concordia was one of a kind. Furthermore the luxurious cruise ship wowed just about everyone who stepped foot on it. This amazing ship with a lot of luxury and uniqueness had a huge capacity and could have housed over 4,000 passengers at a time.
With 1,500 cabins, a casino, and a multi-level theater, it was basically a mobile ocean city.
Sadly, on January 13th, 2012, the Costa Concordia sunk when it struck a rock formation as it departed from a town in Italy.
The ship’s captain Francesco Schettino was arrested shortly after the sinking. He was put to jail for deserting the passengers of his ship as it sank. A total of 33 people died in the disaster.
